Follow these steps, and you'll be sitting poolside in no time!
Step 1: Complete our online New Member Application.
Step 2: You will be contacted by Membership. You should expect a response between 2-5 days of your application submission.
Step 3: Download, complete and return New Member Release Form. The address to return is on the form. You can also scan your signed release form and email your release form if you are planning to pay electronically.
Step 4: Pay for your membership. Our treasurer will send you an invoice. Your membership fees also need to include a $35 application fee. You can pay by check or electronically. If paying by check include with your membership form in the mail. You can pay electronically please note that there will be convenience fees. They are listed at the bottom of this page.
New Membership - No Bond, No Voting Rights
Family Trial Membership ($800/year):
Only available for new families for their 1st year. Family Membership shall consist of an adult person or couple and the minor children of that person or couple. The privileges of membership shall extend to them and others of the immediate family residing in the same household, including any relatives living with the family age 25 years and under. 8 hour work obligation.
Adult Single Membership ($550/year)
Membership shall consist of an adult person aged 21 years or older. The privileges of membership shall extend only to the single member. 8 hour work obligation.
Adult Couple Membership ($750/year)
Membership shall consist of an adult couple. The privileges of membership shall extend to the couple only. 8 hour work obligation.
Junior Membership ($550/year)
Shall consist of a member, aged 12 through 19 years of age. The Membership dues are inclusive of all members in the household within this age group.
- The Board of Directors shall determine the number of Junior Memberships that may be available each year. All employed Minnechaug Lifeguards are entitled to the Junior Membership as a term of their employment. Privileges of the pool, tennis courts etc, will not be extended to the teens family members, however, the teens Parent(s) will be expected to support the swim and tennis teams in the same way that Family Member parents are required to do so. (This also includes social events with regards to tennis and swim teams.)
- In lieu of work hours and pool sitting, the member is to perform a minimum of 4 hours of community service at the pool (i.e. social events for children, special projects) that will be approved by the Chairperson of the Membership committee. The member will be held to the same Rules of Conduct as Family Members. Each will be given the right to invite only guests as defined in the By-Laws. The Junior Membership is valid only during hours the lifeguards are on duty.
New Membership - Bond Required, Full Voting Rights
Family Membership ($1,100/year)
Shall consist of an adult person or couple and the minor children of that person or couple. The privileges of membership shall extend to them and others of the immediate family residing in the same household, including any relatives living with the family age 25 years and under. Families entering their second year of membership after a trial membership would transition to full family membership. 8 Hour work obligation.
Current Members - Transition Options
Recreation Membership ($750/year)
The privileges of membership exclusive of swim team, swim lessons, tennis team and tennis lessons. The use of swimming and tennis facilities shall extend to them, and to others in the immediate family residing in the same household, including any relatives living with the family. Membership may be extended only to past or present Family Memberships in good standing with at least 7 years of continuous membership. If current Members transition to this membership, they will not have voting rights. 8 hour work obligation.
Honorary Membership (50% of full Family Membership Rate)
Families that have attained 15 years of continuous Family Membership will enjoy all Family Membership rights (including voting rights) at a reduced rate of of a full family membership rate. Eligibility is determined by the years of Membership as of September 30 of current Member Year, excluding any Leave of Absence(s). One may never become a Honorary Member if their membership is changed to any other Non Family Membership. Members who meet the requirements of Honorary status must submit in writing a request to transition to Honorary status. It shall be the obligation of the membership committee to confirm eligibility for Honorary Membership Status.
The Board of Directors shall determine the number of these Memberships that may be available each year.
